#Xmas Lunch at the Hilton @HiltonHotels #CommunitiesLivingWell

A big thank you for the Hilton Staff who organised a wonderful lunch for our over 50s in Southwark last Thursday.

We had the exceptional participation of 50 adults aged over 50 years living and taking in part into to community groups in Southwark from Creation Trust,  ATD Fourth World, Time and Talents, Hourbank, Stones End day centre and Communities Living Well.

ATD Fourth World, a human rights-based, anti-poverty organisation with more than 40 years’ experience of working to find solutions to eradicate extreme poverty in the UK, came over with participants of The Roles We Play: Recognising the Contribution of People in Poverty as they wanted to thank the Hilton Docklands Riverside Hotel with songs and poems! First Seamus with a traditional Irish Christmas song and followed by Georgina leading on her Christmas version of Dona Maria.

And to close the lunch, the Hilton organised a raffle, and we had the delight to see Jocelyn winning the Christmas hamper full of goodies to treat herself and family on Christmas eve.

About AgeUKLS

Age UK Lewisham and Southwark provide a wide range of services to support older people's independence and wellbeing. As you grow older there are many factors in life that can become challenging. We aim to support the needs of the most vulnerable, socially excluded and isolated older members of the community. We do this by delivering a range of preventative solutions to negate potential emotional, financial and physical challenges that may accompany ageing. We support thousands of older people who are challenged with issues including illness, poverty as well as poor physical health and wellbeing. We also support people who are isolated and suffer from mental health distress such as depression or alcohol dependency. We can supply people with knowledge about the services and benefits entitled to them.
